From hanging out of a helo with an M60 machine gun and flying with the elite Navy Seawolves in Vietnam, to penetrating hurricanes in the southeast and snowstorms in the northeast, to hunting and tracking Russian subs off the east coast, raising a family, starting and operating a plumbing business, living off the grid on a forty foot sailboat for four years, to building log cabins in the Pocono Mountains, followed by ten years in the jungles of Panama collecting hundreds of insects and orchids and capturing deadly snakes for the Panama University, and then surviving a colon blowout in the middle of night in the middle of the jungle to a new life again in Florida fishing, gardening, and treasure hunting the beaches, and planning the next adventure.

About the Author

In the Delta of Nam, who did Navy Seals call when they got into trouble? The Navy Sea wolves. We answered all the calls for anybody in trouble. Our mission: save their lives.

Follow me, hanging out in an old UH-1B with a machine gun at 100mph. After Nam, I became a Hurricane Hunter with VW-4 Weather Recon. Traded my machine gun for a radio headset. Instead of rocket runs, I did low-level penetrations of hurricanes and storms. We participated in NOAA atmospheric experiments. Many exciting excursions.

When the Hurricane Hunters was enough, I became a Radio Operator aboard a P2V Neptune. Our job? Searching out and tracking Russian subs.

Military service ended, but not the adventure! I finished raising my family in Florida and started my business. Then to the Pennsylvania Poconos building log cabins, followed by selling everything and living on a sailboat.

That is, until Hurricane Wilma destroyed her in the Florida Keys. Followed by living with orchids, insects, and snakes, deep in the rainforests of Panama for ten years.

That’s where the adventure nearly ends…
